| I know I haven't posted lately, but nothing really exciting has been going on. Just the day to day routine... working, cooking, spending time at home with my hubby....
This weekend we went to Lake St. Mary's. It was a nice weekend with the in-laws, and a nice weekend in the sun. Saturday it was SOOOO hot... but very nice to be at the lake. That night, we had our very own fireworks display, which is always handled by Brett's uncle Greg. He always does a good job, and this year we had boats lined up to watch! Our niece, Abby, is getting so big! She's finally starting to say some words now... which I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks she's actually saying something or not... but whenever our dog, "brewer" walks by, she says 'booboo'...and she says boat... and Brett's mom says she hears her say 'Brett.' Maybe she just likes B words. Anyway, it was a fun weekend....
Jeremy finally came home from Nicaragua.. he was there on a mission trip for church... and I can honestly say.. I missed him. I told Brett that it was going to be weird with him being at school. We've just recently gotten close and now he's leaving. I am not sure why it took so long to finally get along... maybe it's because I realized that he's not just my little brother anymore, but he's grown up into a (it's weird to say this....) man. I see him accomplishing so much, and I'm so proud of him... and there's no more of that stupid sibling stuff that I used to feel. I'm just happy he is who he is.... and I want him to be happy too. I told Brett that I wanted to try to talk him out of going to college, but he said that wasn't a good idea. Growing up isn't so bad.... and brothers and sisters aren't always bad either..... And it seems that when you grow up, you finally figure that out..... I guess I wish I would have figured that out sooner... when they were all closer and we could have spent more time together... actually getting along... I guess growing up makes you appreciate people.. even if you never thought you would.
Love you Kim, Kris, and Jerms. | | |
| Ok.. I'm in Cincinnati at the Ramada Inn...... thanking God I'm still alive. We went to the Reds vs Cubs game, and it was really awesome... Cubs won 6-5... Then there was an awesome fireworks display... then the trauma came. My parents and grandparents decided to take a cab back to the hotel, and Brett, my brother, and I decided we'd be idiots and walk. Seems harmless, right? Not so much..... it was only 8 blocks... but then once we went the 8 blocks north, we had to go 8 more west.... and lets just say those last 8 blocks weren't very well lit or very well traveled by cars... let alone pedestrians. At one point, a black man came up to us and asked if we could spare 68 cents so he could get some chicken wings... and I wasn't sure how to approach this.. so I gave him all the money in my pocket. It was only 5 bucks, but hopefully he got some fries and a coke, too. Finally, the hotel was in sight, and so was White Castle. And the bright boys that were with me decided that they were hungry. Ok... lets just say I was at the most ghetto-fied White Castle I've ever seen in my life. Note to self - never stay in the Ramada Inn again. Brett likes to call this little experience, "our adventure" and leave it to him to take about 25 pictures along the way. All in all it ended well. The Cubs won... we saw fireworks.. we're alive....... and yes... Brett and Jeremy got their White Castle.... I'm sure the middle of the night will find them though..... they don't call them sliders for nothing. | | |
| Jeremy's graduation party is today. It's nuts... in the house and anywhere within 500 feet of the house. I've been helping mom but I decided to take a break and blog. :) What a good helper I am!
Last night we saw "the Break up" I was pleasantly surprised... I mean, I liked it a lot and so did Brett. I wasn't too excited about the ending... but it suited the movie I suppose. I won't spoil it, but if anyone's seen it, give me your opinion! It was a nice date night though. We went to Outback and celebrated our 6 month anniversary! I know... 6 months isn't really an anniversary.... but hey, I got dinner and a movie for it... and a nice romantic evening.. I'll spare you the details.
I have a new niece!! My sister, Kim just had a baby girl. Ava Grace Geaslen was born May 31st at 2:10pm. That does away with my whole theory of why babies are almost always born at night. (-Jess, you'll know what I'm talking about)
Anyway, I better get to the party... After his is over, we've gotta go to Canton for another one... Yay. (that was a sarcastic yay) I'm glad for the party.. just not the drive.
